The Ugra Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development announces an open public competition of scientific projects "New approaches to genetic diagnosis, treatment and prevention of frequent hereditary diseases in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Ugra".

Grants are provided for the implementation of measures to develop research leadership and human resources for the Center for High Biomedical Technologies of the Scientific and Technological Center in Surgut, providing for basic scientific research and exploratory scientific research in 2022 for a period of one year with the possibility of further extension of the project implementation period.

The subject of competitive selection is:

- projects to study the genetic basis of rare diseases and develop new approaches to gene therapy for patients with hereditary and infectious diseases (lot # 1);

- projects to create a biobank with biomaterial samples of patients with hereditary, multifactorial and infectious diseases (lot # 2);

- projects to develop methods for detecting endocrine diseases in various regions of the world. cohorts of patients (lot # 3);

- projects on modeling hereditary diseases using induced pluripotent stem cells (lot # 4).

The maximum amount of the grant for 2022 to be distributed among lots is 62,700,000 rubles.

The results of the grant should be:

- new approaches, methods, models in the field of genomic and biomedical technologies ;

- collections and databases of biological samples;

- educational programs;

- publications in scientific journals indexed in international scientific citation databases (Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus);

- patents;

- medical technologies;

- scientific events in the field of genomic technologies. and biomedical technologies;

- increasing the share of researchers under the age of 39 who conduct research and development in the field of genomic and biomedical technologies.

The competitive selection is conducted in accordance with the Regulations of the Ugra Science and Technology Development Fund on granting grants for scientific, scientific, technical and innovative projects.

Grants for the implementation of research projects by research teams are made available to the project manager based on the results of competitive selection under the conditions stipulated by the Foundation, through Russian scientific organizations, Russian educational organizations of higher education, other Russian organizations whose constituent documents provide for the possibility of performing scientific research, international (interstate and intergovernmental) scientific organizations located on the territory of the Russian Federation, based on which projects will be executed.

The application must be received and registered with the Fund by an authorized employee of the organization no later than 16: 00 (Moscow time) on January 31, 2022 at the address: Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, Surgut, Energetikov str., 4, office 511.

The results of the competition are determined by the Fund no later than March 1, 2022.
