New approaches to genetic diagnosis, treatment and prevention of frequent hereditary diseases in ugra. results of evaluation of applications for the scientific project competition
The results of the open public competition of scientific projects were summed up - according to the results of the examination for grants from the Ugra Scientific and Technological Development Fund, the projects of 4 research teams were approved.
Grants are provided for the implementation of measures to develop research leadership and human resources of the Center for High Biomedical Technologies (the first facility of the Scientific and Technological Center in Surgut). for the following lots:
- study of the genetic basis of rare diseases and development of new approaches to gene therapy for patients with hereditary and infectious diseases;
- creation of a biobank with biomaterial samples of patients with hereditary, multifactorial and infectious diseases;
- development of methods for detecting endocrine diseases in various patient cohorts;
- modeling of hereditary diseases using induced pluripotent stem cells.
According to the results of the competition, grants for 2022 supported research teams that unite 52 leading scientists and young researchers from research and educational centers with the following topics:
- Institute of Molecular Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), "Research of immunological and genetic aspects of various endocrine pathologies and development of effective methods for their diagnosis", project manager – Doctor of Biological Sciences D. A. Gryadunov;
- D. O. Ott Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductology (St. Petersburg), "Study of genetic disorders of the endocrine system". fundamentals of preserving the health and quality of life of patients with hereditary and infectious diseases, control and population groups of different ages and developing approaches to their gene therapy", project leader-Doctor of Biological Sciences Glotov A. S.;
- Institute of Cytology and Genetics SB RAS (Novosibirsk), "Creation of models of hereditary Parkinson's disease based on patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells", project manager – Doctor of Biological Sciences S. M. Zakiyan;
- Surgut State University (Surgut), "Creation of a biobank with biomaterial samples of patients with hereditary, multifactorial and non-hereditary diseases". infectious diseases", project manager-Doctor of Medical Sciences Kovalenko L. V.
The stated topics of scientific projects are relevant for medical science and practical healthcare in Ugra and offer modern approaches and methods of world-class genomic and biomedical research.
