The Fund for Scientific and Technological Development of Ugra and Shvabe-Moscow LLC signed an investment agreement to create a Center for high Biomedical technologies
Based on the results of an open tender for the right to conclude an investment agreement on the creation of a Center for High Biomedical Technologies (CIBMT), an investment agreement was concluded with the leader of the collective participant – Shvabe-Moscow LLC (part of the Shvabe Holding of Rostec State Corporation).
The first facility in the infrastructure of the Uniti Park science and technology center will be located on a plot of 5.7 thousand square meters. m
The agreement provides for a full range of project implementation, including design and survey, construction and installation works, supply and equipment configuration, and provision of employee instruction services.
The Center will include laboratories for molecular and genetic research methods, cellular and microfluidic technologies, mass spectrometry, bioinformatics, and a biobank.
The cost of creating the facility is about 4.8 billion rubles, and the construction period is no more than 36 months.
The project will create at least 90 jobs for highly qualified specialists. In addition to research activities, the Center's staff will train highly qualified specialists in promising areas of genomic and translational medicine, cellular, microfluidic and bioinformatic technologies-integrated training with its advanced nature of training, retraining and advanced training of specialists will ensure an effective transition from traditional to preventive and personalized medicine in Ugra.
For example, based on the study, diagnosis and correction of molecular and genetic mechanisms of disease occurrence, it is planned to increase the effectiveness of IVF procedures from 30% to 60% and increase the range of hereditary diseases detected during neonatal screening from 5 to 36, including life-threatening and leading to disability or death of the child.
In December 2021, the Foundation established the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "BIOMED" to carry out scientific and medical activities on the basis of the CIBMT, which was headed by Lev Nikolayevich Kolbasin, Chief freelance specialist in medical genetics of the Department of Health of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra.
Scientific and consulting support for the CIBMT project is provided by an expert group consisting of representatives of the country's leading scientific and educational institutions.
The creation of the CIBMT is aimed at achieving the national goal "Population conservation, health and well-being of people", defined in the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation "On National Development Goals of the Russian Federation until 2030" dated 21.07.2020 No. 474, and is implemented in accordance with the goals and directions provided for by the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Genetic Technologies for 2019-2027, approved by by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 479 of 22.04.2019.
