The Ugra Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development announces an open public competition for scientific projects carried out by young scientists in order to promote innovative development, create modern human resources and improve the quality of life in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Ugra.

The competitive selection is conducted in accordance with the Regulations of the Ugra Science and Technology Development Fund on granting grants for scientific, scientific, technical and innovative projects.

Young scientists who are united in a research team and meet the requirements set out in the tender documentation can take part in the competition.

The organization on the basis of which the scientific project will be implemented must be an organization that has state registration in the territory of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra and meets the requirements of the tender documentation.

Grants are awarded based on the results of the competition to young scientists engaged in exploratory scientific research in the field of medical sciences (medicine, biology and life sciences), including in the following areas:

  • molecular genetic research methods in clinical medicine (perinatal medicine, oncology, cardiology, neuro-degenerative diseases and biobanking);
  • genetics of socially significant diseases in aborigines, indigenous and alien populations of the autonomous okrug (atherosclerosis, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, etc.) –
  • molecular biological research methods, transfer of new technologies introduction to clinical medicine and practical healthcare;
  • study of the genome of aborigines, the population of the North;
  • 5P medicine based on the study of fundamental pathological processes on cell models and organs on a chip for preclinical detection of diseases –
  • technologies of cellular and regenerative medicine –
  • genome editing technologies –
  • bioengineering.

The maximum amount of targeted funding for a single project is 1,000,000 rubles. The maximum amount of funding for 2023 to be distributed among projects is 6,000,000 rubles.

The results of research projects should accelerate the transition from traditional medicine to personalized medicine by:

  1. new approaches, methods, and models in the field of genomic and biomedical technologies
  2. patents;
  3. scientific activities in the field of biomedicine and life sciences;
  4. increasing the share of researchers under the age of 39 years engaged in research and development in the field of genomic and biomedical technologies –
  5. publications in peer-reviewed journals indexed in international databases of scientific research. citations.

Deadline for implementation of the research project: no earlier than March 31, 2023-February 29, 2024

The application must be received and registered by the Foundation employee no later than 16: 00 (Moscow time) on February 28, 2023 at the address: KHMAO-Yugra, Surgut, Energetikov str., 4, office 511.
